Our family recently went Apple Picking near our Woodland Cottage in Pennsylvania. This tradition helps to usher in the new fall season and also gives us the opportunity to create yummy, apple inspired bakes! After picking apples, my youngest daughter proceeded to take a bite out of each apple we picked, thus we needed to get creative on how to bake and eat up some of the apples. I decided to slice up some apples, and an Apple Spice German Pancake. The recipe was a hit!
Our family LOVES to eat German Pancakes for breakfast and this Apple Spice German Pancake uses ingredients that you may already have around your house, plus adds a hint of fall-flavored goodness! It includes 6 eggs, so it’s full of protein and very filling.
All the ingredients go in one cast iron skillet (our favorite 10″ cast iron skillet is under $20!), so it’s not as active as flipping individual pancakes, but just as delicious. It’s perfect for weekday mornings! The ingredients bubble up in the oven and create a different look each time. It’s a recipe that packs a visual punch!
Here’s how you make it!
