Our three daughters are currently ages 7, 5, and 2. We love to use the holidays to focus on giving them items in the categories of “something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to learn or read.” Here’s our holiday gift guide for kids 2-4 years old, with ideas in each category inspired by our 2-year-old, Margaret.

Something You Want

Lovevery – The Block Set: This comprehensive block set features solid wood building blocks and shapes that all fit into a wooden storage box. The set includes arches, wheels, a bead threader, rolling ramp, shape sorter, and the box also converts into a pull car. The set also includes a learning guide with 20+ activities. The activities range in complexity to meet child development stages from age 18 months to 4 years old. Kids can get YEARS of creative play from this one amazing block set. (also available on Amazon)

Winter Sticker Book + Coloring Book – This sticker book has 12 scenes with stickers to put on the page directly next to it, so kids don’t have to flip back and forth. It has a spiral binding so it can lay flat on the table or on your kid’s lap. Our daughters love this sticker book series and we often take them with us in the car on road trips or when traveling by airplane during the holidays.

Drawing Board – This erasable drawing board allows kids to sketch on the screen with a stylus. They can create colorful lines, and then easily clear the screen with the erase button. We take this drawing board with us on long car rides and our girls love doodling on it again and again.

Dot Markers with Activity Sheets – Our daughter LOVES using these dot markers for art activities. We love that she can paint without worrying about spills or messes. The set includes activity sheets that are designed to be decorate with dots. The paints dries quickly and comes in lots of fun colors.

Kidamento Kids Camera – This digital camera features a cute silicone bear case. The case makes it comfortable for kids to hold and also durable. The soft neck strap doubles as a charging cord. Our girls love taking photos and recording videos. The photos can be easily printed or transferred between devices wirelessly using the camera app. This is a fun way to encourage preserving family memories together.

Something You Need

Stainless Steel Cups, Silverware Set, Plates with Silicone Sleeves – Our youngest daughter has moved beyond her “baby” cups, dishes, and utensils, but isn’t quite ready for the full-size versions. This set is perfect for her! The stainless steel cups have a silicone sleeve and a straw with a stopper so they can’t be pulled out of the cup. The straw is wide enough to drink smoothies and easy to clean. The silverware set has silicone handles, and the white porcelain plates have silicone sleeves, so they are all slip resistant!

Tubby Todd – Holiday Gift Set – The holidays are the perfect time to stock up on items that the girls use all of the time, but make them a little more fun or special. This gift set includes Hair + Body Wash in Candied Apricot + Vanilla, Everyday Lotion in Brown Sugar Fig, Bubble Bath in Sweet Jasmine + Clove, and 4 mini Bath Bombs (optional). They’re daily essentials, but feel like a special treat!

Rechargeable Book Light – Our three daughters share a triple bunk bed. We usually put them all to bed at the same time and they enjoy reading in their own beds. This little clip-on book light will let each of them have their own reading space. We can turn off the overhead light so they can fall asleep when they’re ready.

Joovy Noodle V – Child Helmet – Whenever our daughters ride their scooters or bikes, we always make sure they have their helmets on first. All 3 girls have this same style of adjustable helmets, in different solid bright colors. They are lightweight, have air vents and a removable visor, and are made from a high-quality mold with extra back-of-head protection. They are an essential for riding scooters and bikes!

Micro Kickboard – Foldable Mini Deluxe Scooter – Our older daughters ride their scooters 2 miles to and from school each way. Our youngest daughter has become skilled at riding with them at the park! These lightweight foldable scooters have 3 wheels so they are very sturdy and stable, and they use a lean-to-steer design. This “mini” version has an adjustable handlebar that grows with children from age 2 up to age 5.

Something to Wear

Cashmere Tunic Sweater – This sweater is super soft and won’t irritate or itch your little one’s skin. It is lightweight and breathable, while still being warm. It also comes in sizes and styles for the entire family!

Ten Little furry high tops – These are the BEST shoes for little ones in the winter. They have a furry lining to keep feet warm on cold days. They are also designed to support natural growth in little feet. Margaret’s very first shoes were the Everyday Original sneakers in candy pink, and when she outgrew them we got a larger size! Each style comes in lots of solid colors and is perfect for walking, running, or climbing at the playground.

Primary dresses and cozy leggings – Our daughters love wearing bright, colorful dresses all year round. This Dressed Up-ish collection features dresses that are cute AND comfortable. Our daughters love to pair them with leggings, and these “cozy leggings” are perfect for winter. They are a bit thicker than regular leggings, and come in lots of fun colors. Use code TIDYDAD20 for 20% off your 1st order + free shipping.

Kyte Baby tiered dress and pajama set – Our girls love twirling in these super soft tiered dresses and sleeping in the pajama sets. The soft bamboo fabric is stretchy, comfortable and cozy, for day and night! The dresses and pajamas also come in sizes for adults, so you can match! They also include a fun new Harry Potter print in many of the styles.

Kyte Baby sleep bag walker – This sleep bag is a wearable blanket that keeps little ones warm while allowing safe mobility. Our daughter loves putting it on every night before bed. We don’t have to worry about her kicking off her blanket in the night, or tripping on a sleep sack in the morning. This sleep bag is perfect for toddlers and goes up to size 4T.

Something to Learn/Read

Five Unique Unicorns: Silicone Touch and Feel Board Book – We love the various touch and feel books created by Little Hippo Books. They are a fun way to combine reading and learning concepts with a touch-and-feel sensory experience! This unicorn book is full of bright, colorful illustrations to look at as you feel and count the unicorns. We also love their series about Our Environment, Our Weather and Our Solar System. Any of their books will be sure to delight a little reader in your life!

Busy Board Backpack – This is a great travel toy for kids! It contains fine motor activities for kids to practice their alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, and more. It all folds into a backpack that can be worn with adjustable straps, so kids can easily transport it to the car or airport. It comes in pink or orange.

Yoto Mini Player (+ starter pack of 7 cards) – Our girls all love listening to audio books and music on their Yoto Player, especially at rest time, bedtime, and in the car. We love that the device has no cameras, microphones, or ads. We like to use holidays to add more audio cards to their collection. Our youngest daughter loves listening to her lullabies card as she falls asleep.

Lovevery Subscription – Lovevery Play Kits provide stage-based play essentials for your child. We love that these curated kits take the guesswork out of choosing developmentally appropriate toys. They send a box of toys that promotes learning, including an activity guide to support you and your child as you play!

Gift Guide for Kids 2-4 Years Old

About me

Hi, my name is Tyler Moore. My wife and I live with our three young daughters in a 700- square-foot apartment in New York City. I began my tidying journey when an early-30’s crisis invited me to reflect upon, challenge, and change my patterns of daily living. I quit my job as a school administrator, returned to teaching, and started Tidy Dad to help others tidy, simplify, and find joy in their lives. I firmly believe the tidying process can transform your life. I’d love for you to join me in exploring ways that tidying can make room for what’s important in life.
