A few years ago, we rearranged our kitchen items and turned our kitchen pantry into a toy rotation closet. The toy rotation system helps us reduce mess and clutter, since it limits the amount of toys out in the playroom. Our girls still have access to their toys, but they don’t need all of them out all of the time. It makes tidying much easier and provides us with more floor space to walk through and play on.
In this article, we list our favorite toy organization products that help us sort, categorize, and store toys and arts and crafts supplies, and make our toy rotation system a success.
Large Clear Flip-Top Plastic Stacking Storage Container (set of 6): This modular storage container is a great solution for storing small toys sets. The containers easily stack together, and the latching lids help make sure the lids don’t get lost. It is easy to see the items inside since the containers are clear. This type of container is also a great size for organizing arts and crafts supplies.
Small Clear Flip-Top Plastic Stacking Storage Container (set of 12): This is a smaller version of the above flip-top storage container. It is ideal for keeping small items contained, such as toy accessories and arts and crafts supplies. It is designed to stack individually, but it can also be stacked with the larger flip-top containers, as two of the smaller size fit on top of the larger size.
Clear Plastic Stacking Storage Container (set of 6): This storage container has a spacious design that is ideal for larger toy sets. It is made of anti-break, durable polypropylene material that ensures long-term use. The container lid and body are also designed to create a secure stacking experience.
Mesh Zipper Pouches: These mesh zipper pouches are great for organizing learning materials and activities with lots of small parts, such as board games, puzzles, and arts and crafts supplies. They are also waterproof, giving your items extra protection. These pouches are available in eight different colors, so it’s easy to use the color coding system to organize items by category.
3-Tier Metal Rolling Storage Cart: This rolling cart can maximize your space by providing more storage capacity while only occupying minimal floor space. You could use it as a toy cart, a book cart, or an art cart for your kids. It also has 360° rotating wheels that improve mobility and allow you to easily move the cart from one location to another. It is perfect for additional storage and organization in any room in your home. We currently use ours in the toy rotation closet for arts and crafts supplies.
Setting up a toy rotation system in your home can be a great way to reduce mess and clutter. Reducing the amount of toys that your children have out in their play space at one time can give them more space to focus on play, make tidying easier, and keep their toys feeling fresh and new. The five products we mentioned above can help keep your toys organized and accessible, and maximize your space at home.
