Family Beach Day
Our family loves spending time in the water, whether it is at the pool, lake or beach! When we are at our cottage in the Poconos of Pennsylvania, we have access to indoor and outdoor pools, and are within walking distance of the lake. We also love spending time as a family on the beach. We are sharing some of our favorite essentials for family beach day items!
CGear: Sand-Free Tote Bag
I love using this CGear navy stripe canvas sand-free tote bag. It is perfect as an everyday family bag, and especially as a beach bag. It is a large and durable tote bag with a sand-free base. It’s such an important feature for a family beach day bag. We can even fit ALL the other items from this list in the bag!
Coleman Beach Shade Tent
We purchased this Coleman beach shade tent when Mabel was a baby. We have used it during every beach trip over the past 6 years. It is easy to set up, and a perfect size for our family. It is nice to have a shaded area to escape with the kids in the middle of the day, to sit, snack, or take naps. There is an extended front flap, and a large back window for ventilation, which lets the breeze through. And it all stores in a small bag!
Ro.Sham.Bo Baby: Family Sunglasses
Durable sunglasses are essential when you have kids. Ro.Sham.Bo Baby carries polarized sunglasses that are perfect for the entire family because they are flexible, bendable, and virtually unbreakable. Our family loves building sand castles together! The Castle Builders Set by SandPal allows us to attempt to build the castle of our dreams. It can be used with sand, snow, mud or kinetic sand, and is endlessly creative. The set even comes with a mesh bag to tidy up all of the building items when we are finish constructing!
Zip Top: Reusable Containers
When packing for a family beach day, one of the most important items is snacks! We have the Zip Top Full Set of 8 Reusable Containers, which includes all 3 sizes of cups, 3 sizes of dishes, and 2 sizes of bags. The bags are made of food-grade resuable silicone, and they are dishwasher, freezer, and microwave safe. The best part is that they have a solid flat base, so they can stand up and stay open when you’re filling them up! ALVABABY: Wet Bags
I hate tossing dirty or wet towels, swimsuits, or diapers into our tote bag with other items. The ALVABABY wet/dry cloth bag is a multi-functional bag that has 2 zippered sections. Wet and dry sections can be kept separate, and the “wet” section is sewn and sealed for no wicking or leaking. The bags have a snap handle for easy carrying or hanging, or I can put our wet items in here and then toss the bag into our larger tote bag.

Every outdoor family beach day starts with sunscreen. Our current go-to is Babo Botanical’s Sheer Mineral Sunscreen Spray in SPF 50. It also comes in a Sheer Mineral Sunscreen Lotion in SPF 50.
