In our family, Emily does all of the shopping for our girls’ toys, clothes, and shoes. Her background is in pediatric occupational therapy, and it is important to her that our girls have developmentally appropriate items to support them as they as grow. This definitely includes quality shoes, and she found a great pair of shoes for new walkers! Here’s her “Emily’s Picks” review of the shoes we chose for our youngest daughter, Margaret, as she turned 1.

We reached out to Ten Little to partner with us for this blog review. We LOVE these shoes and are excited to let you know about them!

Our littlest girl, Margaret, turned 1 this week, and she is just beginning to take her first steps. She gets lots of hand-me-down toys and clothes from her big sisters, but it was important to us that she have new shoes of her very own. It’s easy for the soles of shoes to compress and form to shape of the foot, causing little toe imprints or heel dents. Young kids have soft, rapidly growing feet that will try to fit into those spaces, so it’s definitely preferable to have a fresh pair of shoes.

Best Shoes for New Walkers

We researched shoes for new walkers, and discovered Ten Little. They worked with podiatrists and pediatricians to create a shoe that isn’t too narrow and instead matches the natural shape of a little foot. The wide toe box allows room for toes to wiggle and grow. We love their brand and their mission to make “healthy shoes for little feet”.

Ten Little shoes come in a variety of bright and neutral solid colors. They are made of vegan leather with natural rubber soles. We chose a bright pink color for our littlest girl!

There are 2 different styles of Ten Little shoes: an Everyday Original and an Everyday Hightop version. We picked the Everyday Original. Both versions have flat, flexible soles which make them perfect shoes for new walkers!

The Ten Little website also makes it so easy to shop for the correct shoe size. Kids feet grow so quickly and it is important for shoes to fit correctly to support healthy development. They have 3 ways to find your child’s shoes fit: a printable fit finder, a foot measurement, or answering questions about your child’s current shoe. We decided to answer the questions, and it was easy!

When the shoes came, we were so impressed to discover that the inside of the Ten Little box was printed with a shoe fit tool so that we can check her future shoe sizes.

In addition, each Ten Little shoe also features a removable insole that has a line marked near the toe to let us know when she outgrows the shoe. The insole image of a cheetah even lets toddlers know which shoe goes on the left side and which shoe goes on the right side! Genius!

We are so happy with these new Ten Little shoes for Margaret! They are cute, fashionable, sturdy, and we know she is going to love learning to walk in them!
