I have been busy working on a Tidy Dad design project for a client, and am so excited to share this “cloffice” reveal!
Last year I turned a closet in our cottage into a closet office “cloffice” workspace, and recently I got to design another “cloffice” in our neighborhood. The closet measures 6ft by 9ft, has a window and had two high storage shelves. It needed a few updates to be used as an office. While working remotely, the client frequently needs to be on video conferences. She wanted the wall behind her desk updated to look more professional. Overall, she wanted the space to feel “less like a closet.” I shared the details of our design process, as well as our mood board, and now I am sharing the closet office “cloffice” reveal!
Prior to the start of the project, the client had already purchased a desk, filing cabinet, and chair. I incorporated these items into the new design. I repurposed an existing high shelf in the room that was once on the opposite wall, as a lower shelf over her desk.
This wall is directly behind the client when she is on zoom calls. I added a board and batten technique to give the wall a more professional look and visually elongate the space. I painted the wall a shade of blue called November Skies. The gold curtain rod and navy curtains help the space to feel like a room instead of a closet.
This beautiful credenza under the window stores the client’s printer and also provides storage for papers and files.
This beautiful brass lamp with a large clear globe provides additional task lighting for the space.
The addition of the Medallion Fringe Area Rug helps to ground the office space and nicely ties together the colors of the chair, curtains, and board and batten wall.
This was such a fun project! If you need help tidying or designing a space, I offer a few Tidy Coaching Packages. Tidy Tips is $25 for a 30-minute virtual call, if you want to show me your space and get a few personalized ideas before you tackle the project on your own. I also offer custom packages to outline a personalized tidying plan for one room or your entire home, and can also provide accountability check-ins. And then there’s the Tidy Dad Design package, where I fully redesign a space complete with spatial design, mood board, and product sourcing. Contact me if you’re interested in learning more!
The transformation of this “cloffice” space is quite dramatic. What was once a closet for clothing storage has been transformed into a professional workspace! Here’s a final side-by side-view of that before and after!

My wife and I live with our three young girls in a 700-square-foot apartment in New York City. I started Tidy Dad to help others tidy, simplify, and find joy in their lives. I firmly believe the tidying process can transform your life. I’d love for you to join me in exploring ways that tidying can make room for what’s important in life.

Hi, my name is Tyler Moore. My wife and I live with our three young daughters in a 700- square-foot apartment in New York City. I began my tidying journey when an early-30’s crisis invited me to reflect upon, challenge, and change my patterns of daily living. I quit my job as a school administrator, returned to teaching, and started Tidy Dad to help others tidy, simplify, and find joy in their lives. I firmly believe the tidying process can transform your life. I’d love for you to join me in exploring ways that tidying can make room for what’s important in life.
