We love gifting new books to our daughters for any occasion. We recently partnered with Candlewick Press to review some of their latest children’s books releases. They sent us 6 books for kids (that also teach!) and they are perfect for gifting. We love that the books also teach educational concepts to children through fun, engaging stories and beautiful, colorful illustrations! Check out our full IGTV review, and links to each of the books below.
This mesmerizing board book is designed for ages 0-3. It features paper backgrounds with animal patterns and invites kids to use their visual discrimination skills to spot specific animals on each page. This book is perfect for teaching about various animals across the globe, introducing counting skills, and practicing search-and-find activities.
This creative board book is designed for ages 2-5. It features simple illustrations of basic geometric shapes, paired with delightfully silly illustrations of animals engaged in hilarious activities, like an emu pushing a pancake wagon down a hill! This book is a great introduction to shapes, while also engaging kids in the enjoyment of surprising storytelling.
This is a gorgeous board book full of colors and designed for ages 4-8. Children are often asked to state their favorite color, but this book reveals that each color can shift along a beautiful spectrum of hues and shades. This book teaches colors, but also expands on that idea to introduce deeper appreciation of the expansive range of colors that can be found in nature and art.
This book contains a trio of stories designed for ages 4-8, and is a perfect book for young readers. The narrator introduces basic sentences like “see the cat” and the character of Max emphatically lets the readers know that Max is NOT a cat, he is a dog! This is a super fun way to expand on the simple storylines of basic primer reading books.
This large book is full of detailed artwork and is designed for ages 7-10. It introduces ways to sort objects in a variety of categories, including people, animals, buildings, books, food, vehicles, instruments, and cloud formations. This is a beautiful way to introduce the concepts of classifying and ordering.
This large book contains engaging illustrations and is designed for ages 8-12. The book explores various mathematic concepts, including the history and application of math in the real world. This is a perfect way to expand on math knowledge and awareness and show kids how these ideas are relevant all around us!

My wife and I live with our three young girls in a 700-square-foot apartment in New York City. I started Tidy Dad to help others tidy, simplify, and find joy in their lives. I firmly believe the tidying process can transform your life. I’d love for you to join me in exploring ways that tidying can make room for what’s important in life.

Hi, my name is Tyler Moore. My wife and I live with our three young daughters in a 700- square-foot apartment in New York City. I began my tidying journey when an early-30’s crisis invited me to reflect upon, challenge, and change my patterns of daily living. I quit my job as a school administrator, returned to teaching, and started Tidy Dad to help others tidy, simplify, and find joy in their lives. I firmly believe the tidying process can transform your life. I’d love for you to join me in exploring ways that tidying can make room for what’s important in life.
