ThinkFun Games

Our family loves games, especially games that incorporate playful learning and are fun for the whole family. ThinkFun has been one of our favorite brands for kids games for years. Some of our family’s long-time favorites are Roll & Play, Yoga Spinner, Zingo! Bingo, Zingo! 1-2-3, and S’Match.

We recently reached out to ThinkFun to let them know how much we enjoy their games, and they gifted us 3 new games: Heads Talk, Tail Walk, My First Rush Hour, and Zingo! Word Builder! We are happy to provide a product review, sharing our experience with the new games. Our girls loved them, and they are perfect for gifting for the holidays!

Heads Talk, Tails Walk

ThinkFun games

Heads Talk, Tails Walk is a memory matching game with a silly movement twist. It is designed for 2-5 players, ages 3+. The game includes 10 large body tiles and 10 small head tiles, each depicting different animals.

The game is played by taking turns flipping over one of the head tiles and seeing if it matches the body tile on the top of the stack. If so, that person gets to keep the match. But if not, the whole group gets to stand up and move around the room, walking like the animal from the body tile, and talking like the animal from the head tile.

Our girls had fun with the hilarious combination of sounds and movements we created together! The fun combination of memory, matching, and movement makes Heads Talk, Tails Walk a perfect game for young kids!

My First Rush Hour

ThinkFun games

My First Rush Hour is a match & go maze game. It is designed for ages 3+ and can be played by a single player, or can be problem-solved together. The game includes 30 challenge cards that slide into the parking lot game grid, with vehicles to match onto the grid.

The game teaches a variety of skills, as the cars can be matched by color or shape. Then the player must logically think about how to slide the red car along an open path to reach the exit ramp, sometimes needing to slide other cars out of the way to create an open path.

Our girls loved placing the cars onto the grid. They also worked together to think about a path to slide the red car to the exit ramp. My First Rush Hour is a great game for building critical thinking skills!

Zingo! Word Builder

ThinkFun games

Zingo! Word Builder is part of the variety of Zingo! games that include a special Zinger dispenser. It is designed for kids in grades K-2, and can be played by 2-6 players. The game includes 6 double-sided cards, 72 double-side tiles, and a Zinger.

There are two levels of play to support early and more advanced readers. Both levels help kids to build their understanding of letters, spelling patterns, and vocabulary.

Our girls loved sliding the Zinger to release tiles, and then trying to build words from the letters on the tiles. And of course, when the game card is full they love to yell “Zingo!” This Zingo! Word Builder is the perfect game for young readers.

ThinkFun Games for Kids

About me

Hi, my name is Tyler Moore. My wife and I live with our three young daughters in a 700- square-foot apartment in New York City. I began my tidying journey when an early-30’s crisis invited me to reflect upon, challenge, and change my patterns of daily living. I quit my job as a school administrator, returned to teaching, and started Tidy Dad to help others tidy, simplify, and find joy in their lives. I firmly believe the tidying process can transform your life. I’d love for you to join me in exploring ways that tidying can make room for what’s important in life.
